Custom Bread Shelves for
Big River Baking Co.

We had the honour of designing and crafting custom bread shelves for Big River Baking Co. They are located downtown Bracebridge, Ontario in the heart of Muskoka.

Working with the owner on the design, we created angled shelves to better display their bread products.

As an added customization we laser engraved their logo on the ends of the shelves.

We made a red oak harvest table for the new Bracebridge Library! Located next to the new Muskoka Lumber Community center at 34 Salmon Ave. in Bracebridge.

This custom built table is made from elmwood that we milled ourselves here in Muskoka.

This walnut slab is from a 5’ stump we salvaged in Orillia, ON. We milled it ourselves! This live edge walnut table has a naturally curly grain caused by the stress of growing on a hillside. Its beautiful grain colouration is from the beginning process of the woods decomposition. The main section of the tree had been cut down a year or so before we discovered the stump. As rain and fungus began to penetrate the open pores of the wood, a natural spalting began to occur. Caught early enough, we can enjoy the beautiful colouration of the wood without losing the structural integrity of the wood.

Epoxy Resin and Elm Wood Table

120-Year-Old Pine Cookie Table

This live edge table is made of a cross-section (cookie) from a 120-year-old pine tree. Our arborist neighbor cut it down on Muskoka lake.

The natural checking (crack) is from the wood shrinking as the cookie dried out. The walnut bowtie inlays are not only aesthetically pleasing but are traditionally used to help stabilize the wood. We filled the checking with black epoxy resin to accentuate its natural characteristics and further stabilize the wood.

Ash Side Table

This table really accentuates the natural beauty of ash wood. Every piece of wood in this table is made of ash.

The tabletop is made of laminated ash strips. The legs are made of baked ash. During the baking process, the sap in the wood carmelized and naturally created that rich brown colour of the wood. The central leg brace is made of an ash cookie that was stained to match the legs.
